On 9th march Vidarbha region of Maharashtra rocked with another four suicides when *1. MODHUKAR GANJU RATHODE OF GAWADGOAN VILLAGE IN AKOLA* *2. OMKAR CHANDU RAHANGADALE OF ASADI TANDA IN GONDIA* *3. KISHORE RAMRAO GAWANDE OF VILLAGE CHONDI IN PUSAD* *4. ASHOK MAHADEV TIDAKE OF VILLAGE JAMATHI IN AKOLA* ended their life by killing themselves in Vidarbha agrarian crisis. When Kishor Gawande was committing suicide in Chondhi , 10 k.m. away the guardian minister of Yavatmal district. And nephew of ex-chief minister late Vasantrao Naik , shri Manohar Naik was celebrating his 60th birthday with great fanfare in Pusad. That agony of the shamelessness of corrupt politician when Yavatmal district alone reported more than 1000 farmers suicides in last 4 years and most of them are from Manohar Naik's Banjara community even though he was celebrating his birthday with great fanfare. VJAS leader Kishor Tiwari informed to the local media over the mass genocide. It's really a mockery of the relief operation that PMO has arranged. PMO had ordered IB probe in relief aid distribution to distress farmers of Vidarbha when Mahrashtra Government filed an affidavit in apex court that local administration has not received any money from the Rs.3750/- crore Prime Minister Relief Package to the suicide prone west Vidarbha declared in July 2006. Kishore Tiwari of VJAS has demanded that the Govt. should come out with facts before the nation about the exact amount that has reached to the dieing farmers. And in the month of feb, 2007, 88 and January 2007, 70 farmers committed suicide to take the total figure of farmer suicides in 2007 to 198 as this figure is almost double than last year's figure.
